Testing, 1… 2… 3…

Well, it looks like all has gone well with my transition to WordPress. I’d hoped to have everything up and running before switching over the DNS, but as an amateur (read: hack), I couldn’t figure out how to get the timing and linking right on that.  Thanks for your patience as I move over my linkies and tweak the template a bit.

Thanks to this outstanding how-to on keeping TypePad permalinks intact, I think I’ve got everything where it should be and even managed to keep my FeedBurner feed intact. Of course, this post will be the real test.

Anybody out there?

I like for people to respond when I’m testing something… My Google Reader picked up your new feed; just showed me the existing items you moved over as new. Hope you like WordPress – I do! I love to play with the templates and make them my own too!

I’m loving it so far! Thanks for the reply. Moving the feed and keeping it intact took some messing-with, but (obviously!) I did get it to work. I don’t know why all the old posts come back as “new” when you do that, but I’m just happy it worked.

Wow. A big move. It looks like you’ve added a lot of new functionality to your blog, which is why you did it, I’m sure. I’m going to miss that header picture, though!

I had a soft spot for that pic as well ;-) !! I did something similar on my family blog, though. What can I say? You inspired me!! Not to mention the increased expandability of WordPress and the DECREASE in cost over TypePad….

I still need to tweak the far-right sidebar a bit and also figure out a way to incorporate my lengthy blogroll.

I wouldn’t be blogging at all were it not for you, Scott. You’ve created a monster!

So you made the move to WordPress…looks good Scott. I agree with Jill, I like to play with the templates in WordPress too and individualize them as much as I want. By the way, get that old picture up there! Its not the same “Universe” without it.
